Cristie L. Thomas, Executive Director

Cristie Thomas is the Executive Director of Marietta Main Street and as such, oversees all of Main Street's internal and external operations including events, marketing, programming, fundraising, and community outreach.

Before joining Marietta Main Street, Cristie worked in Marietta College's Office of Civic Engagement, housed in the McDonough Leadership Center. There, Cristie oversaw leadership development programs, service-learning programs, and volunteer-based programs all aimed at connecting students with the local community. She did a brief stint in the College's Office of Advancement, focusing her efforts on philanthropy and alumni development.

Cristie owns a local business, sits on a variety of local nonprofit boards and advisory groups, and has presented on social media, volunteer management, civic engagement, capacity building, and conflict resolution at a wide-range of regional conferences. She is a writer for local magazine Clutch MOV and has traveled to over a dozen countries.

Originally from Long Island, NY, Cristie moved to the Mid-Ohio Valley after earning her B.A. from Bucknell University and her M.A. from SIT Graduate Institute. When Cristie isn't in the Main Street HQ, you can find her wrangling her two kiddos, listening to the Hamilton soundtrack, or reading the latest Jodi Picoult novel.

Sarah Arnold, President of the Board

Sarah Arnold is the President of the Board of Directors for Marietta Main Street. Sarah joined Marietta Main Street as a volunteer in 2013 before joining the Board of Directors in 2015, and serving as Vice President in 2016. Sarah has served on the Design, Public Art, Business and Enhancement, Operations, and Executive Committees during her time with Marietta Main Street.

With a background in Architecture and Design, Sarah is the Director of Marketing at Pickering Associates, a Mid-Ohio Valley based Architecture, Engineering and Surveying firm. In addition, she founded and runs the first local print and online lifestyle magazine for the region, www.clutchmov.com.

More than just passionate about promoting her community, Sarah proactively works to make it a better place to live, work, and play. Outside of Marietta Main Street, she volunteers with the Marietta Kiwanis Club, Building Bridges to Careers, and Canstruction WV.

A Marietta High School graduate, Sarah received her B.A. in Architecture from Miami University, and is currently enrolled in a M.S. program in Technology Management through Marshall University. When Sarah isn't working, volunteering, or studying, she can be found helping her mom out in Wit & Whimzy or taking photos around town.
