First Fridays in downtown Marietta, OH are monthly snippets of the best our community has to offer. Our downtown shops are open late, our restaurants feature diverse menus, local musicians and artists are highlighted, and monthly themes offer a variety of unique, fun experiences for our whole community to enjoy.

April's First Friday is Marietta's Birthday Party! Shops will be open late, live music and local art will be featured, new businesses will be open ready to say hi, balloons will be scattered throughout our beautiful district, and Marietta's 230th Birthday will be celebrated all night long!

+ Annual Spring Open House

+ Wooden Boat Building

Time: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Building Bridges to Careers

What: Join local resident Dan Jones as he shares his talent of making wooden watercrafts during this First Friday Marietta Birthday celebration weekend. Also joining Building Bridges to Careers will be Marietta High School students Emma Davis, LaShawn Kelly, Norman Jackson, Jozi Covey, and Romane Lobet who are in the process of building a wooden kayak! Time: 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Where: Armory

+ Dancing with the Docs Fundraiser

Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Teri Ann's

What: Meet & Greet with the contestants of Dancing with the Docs and donate for a chance to win 2 tickets to this sold out event at Peoples Bank Theatre! The drawing will be at 8:45 p.m.. Need not be present to win. Learn more by clicking here.

+ Mid-Ohio Valley Student Art Show

Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Riverside Artists Gallery

What: Teachers from nine local high schools, Belpre, Frontier, Fort Frye, Marietta, Parkersburg, Parkersburg Catholic, St. Mary’s, Warren and Wood County Christian, have submitted student art work in 2D, 3D and Digital. There will be a ceremony at 7:00 p.m. to present awards to students for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention in each of the art categories. + Marietta Birthday Celebration & First Friday Open House

Time: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: Peoples Bank Theatre

What: During First Friday: Marietta's Birthday Party, celebrate Marietta's 230th Birthday at Peoples Bank Theatre as Marie Antoinette cuts and serves an 8' long cake for all those in attendance, 7 p.m. on the Main Stage. Time: 9 p.m.

Where: The Adelphia Music Hall
