With about 22 restaurants and 40 active retailers, plus two hotels and a number of venues for night life, historic downtown Marietta is a destination for everyone and anyone to enjoy a night out on the town, which is only one of the reasons why Marietta Main Street is excited to announce a new program launching January 2017: First Fridays! A popular program in many Main Street communities, First Fridays are a celebration of small business, community, art, music, and all that makes downtown Marietta special.
Drew Tanner, Marketing Director of Peoples Bank Theatre shares, "We're excited to see the development of First Fridays as a monthly event that showcases our downtown merchants, as well as the wealth of live entertainment taking place at Peoples Bank Theatre and venues throughout town. Our audiences frequently ask about downtown options for shopping and dining when planning an evening out, and the extended hours offered on First Fridays will give them an opportunity to see all that the merchants in our historic downtown have to offer."
January through December, we invite our entire community to head downtown the first Friday of each month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. to enjoy our shops open late, fun themed programs, the opportunity to support area nonprofits, local artists, and local musicians, and simply connect with community.
Charla Hall, Manager of Baker & Baker Jewelers is one of many merchants who is excited to promote First Fridays. She says, "Here at Baker & Baker we are looking forward to the First Fridays in 2017. It will be a great way to kick off each month with something a little different so everyone will want to check it out, and be a part of the fun festivities."

Shoppers downtown will have an opportunity to win a free giveaway each First Friday by receiving one raffle ticket per each $10 purchase in any of the downtown shops. January's giveaway is a gift basket from THRIVEfitt LLC.
