Every year, the Marietta Main Street Board of Directors reviews the recommendations from each Main Street committee to set and approve an annual strategic plan. Through the leadership, resources, and expertise of Marietta Main Street committees, our annual strategic goals are met with the focus and fervor required to passionately continue the work of revitalizing downtown Marietta, Ohio.


2017 STRATEGIC GOALS

Design Committee

  1. Strengthen entryway beautification
  2. Redevelop design and maintenance strategy of downtown bump outs in partnership with local organizations
  3. Streamline downtown flag program, including storage of flags, guidelines for hanging flags, and volunteer management.

Public Art Committee

  1. Refine Public Art Plan for downtown Marietta
  2. Develop Public Art Committee vision statement, including an outline of the process for working with Marietta Main Street for public art projects
  3. Continue development of temporary mural series downtown

Promotions Committee

  1. Develop an advertising plan for Historic Downtown Marietta
  2. Streamline work plans for Main Street events
  3. Capture data on impact of First Fridays

Business Enhancement Committee

  1. Strengthen relationships with business owners in Harmar Village
  2. Develop a network of property owners to increase support from Marietta Main Street
  3. Create a series comprehensive, informational documents regarding owning a business in downtown Marietta
  4. Develop a group of committed volunteers to support the management of the Farmers Market on Front Street

Historic Preservation Committee

  1. Host a successful historic preservation "expo"
  2. Develop & implement Marietta's Endangered Places List
  3. Push forward with codified historic preservation ordinances in partnership with the City of Marietta

Operations Committee

  1. Grow individual giving program to increase revenue for Main Street
  2. Review & finalize all organizational policies of the Board
  3. Explore possibility of increasing staff and chart out a potential timeline

Executive Committee

  1. Increase revenue across the board for administration of the Main Street program
  2. Redevelop MMS brand and marketing strategies
  3. Develop a strategic vision for economic development in the C4 District
